It's Never Too Late to Do What You Love
Share
Have you ever looked back at your life and thought about all the things you wanted to do but never quite got around to doing?
Maybe life got busy. Maybe you were raising a family, working, taking care of everyone else, or simply trying to get through the day. Somewhere along the way, those dreams got pushed aside.
Well, I'm here to tell you something.
It's never too late to do what you love.
A Little About My Journey
I've always been a creative person. I love making things with my hands, trying new ideas, and seeing something come to life that started as nothing more than a thought.
My love for soapmaking goes all the way back to my childhood. Both my grandmother and my mother made soap, and years later, in 2007, I decided to give it a try myself.
And wouldn't you know it? I fell in love with it!
There was something so satisfying about choosing ingredients, experimenting with different combinations, and creating something useful and beautiful with my own two hands.
But soapmaking was only the beginning.
Over the years, my creativity has taken me in so many different directions. From bath and body products to personalized gifts, journals, books, home décor, and all sorts of creative projects, I've discovered that there's always something new to learn.
And believe me, my mind never seems to run out of ideas!
Life Has a Way of Changing Our Plans
For 25 years, I worked as a social worker. It was a career that taught me a great deal about people, life, resilience, and the importance of making a difference.
But even while working and handling life's responsibilities, that creative part of me was always there.
Sometimes I had more time for it than others. Sometimes my ideas moved faster than I could keep up with them.
And sometimes, like so many of us, I had to put things on the back burner.
But the desire to create never went away.
Now that I've retired from social work, I have the opportunity to spend more time doing the things I love, exploring new ideas, and continuing to grow Earthern Magic Essence.
And you know what?
I'm still learning. I'm still experimenting. I'm still figuring things out.
And I'm perfectly okay with that.
You Don't Have to Have It All Figured Out
One thing I've learned is that we sometimes talk ourselves out of doing things before we even begin.
We think we're too old.
We think we don't have enough money.
We think everyone else is already doing it.
Or we convince ourselves that we have to know exactly what we're doing before we take that first step.
But here's something I want you to remember.
You don't have to be perfect to begin. You just have to be willing to try.
Your first attempt might not turn out the way you imagined. Mine certainly haven't always!
But every mistake teaches you something. Every new skill opens another door. And every small accomplishment gives you a reason to keep going.
A Little Encouragement from Me to You
Maybe you've been thinking about starting a business, learning to paint, writing a book, making jewelry, going back to school, or trying something you've always wanted to do.
Whatever it is, I hope you'll give yourself permission to try.
Start small if you need to.
Take one class. Buy a few supplies. Write the first page. Make that first phone call.
Just don't let another year go by wishing you had started.
Because life doesn't stop offering us opportunities to grow simply because we've gotten older.
Sometimes the most exciting chapters are the ones we haven't written yet.
Here's to New Beginnings
As I begin sharing more here on my blog, I hope you'll join me for a little creativity, inspiration, laughter, and everyday life.
Some weeks I'll share what I've been making. Other times, we might talk about meaningful gifts, lessons learned, trying something new, or simply finding a little joy in the ordinary moments.
I don't have all the answers, and I certainly don't have everything figured out.
But I do know that I love creating, I love learning, and I love sharing things that might bring a smile to someone else's face.
And if something I share encourages even one person to follow a dream they've been putting off, that makes it even more worthwhile.
So here's to starting something new, no matter what chapter of life you're in.
Remember, it's never too late to do what you love.
Until next time, keep creating, keep dreaming, and don't forget to do something that makes YOU happy.
With love and creativity,
In-Dea
Earthern Magic Essence
I'd love to hear from you!
